Madelaine L'Esperance, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Madelaine L’Esperance is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Consumer Sciences at The University of Alabama. She is also a faculty affiliate of the Alabama Research Institute on Aging and research fellow of the Center for Financial Security.
Her research focuses on three key areas: how youth and young adults develop financial capability; the role of safety net programs in promoting financial health; and the financial behavior of people with disabilities. She has published in the Review of Economics of the Household, Journal of Family Economic Issues, and Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance. Her research has received support from the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs and Social Security Administration. | ||
